File your Pennsylvania taxes online with your federal return
Answer one set of questions and Vordana Tax prepares both returns: your 2025 federal return, which we e-file to the IRS, and your Pennsylvania return. We prepare your Pennsylvania return (Form PA-40) on the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue's forms.

How your Pennsylvania return is prepared
- Answer the interview once. Your Pennsylvania return uses the same answers as your federal return, plus a few Pennsylvania questions such as your school district.
- We e-file your federal return to the IRS.
- We prepare your Pennsylvania return on the Department of Revenue's own forms, with the schedules your answers need.
The Pennsylvania forms we prepare
Your return is Form PA-40, whether you lived in Pennsylvania all year, part of the year, or not at all. Pennsylvania figures its tax by class of income, so the schedules your answers need are added with it: Schedules A and B for interest and dividends, Schedule C for a business, Schedule D for sales of property, Schedule E for rents and royalties, Schedule UE for unreimbursed work expenses, and Schedule NRH when wages must be split between Pennsylvania and another state.
If you owe Pennsylvania, we prepare the PA-40 V payment voucher with your return.
Pennsylvania credits we figure for you
- Tax Forgiveness (Schedule SP), which can reduce or erase Pennsylvania tax for lower-income households.
- The Child and Dependent Care Enhancement Tax Credit (Schedule DC), figured from your federal child and dependent care credit.
- The resident credit for tax paid to another state (Schedule G-L).
Your Pennsylvania refund comes by check
Your Pennsylvania refund comes as a check; the PA-40 has no Direct Deposit box. Your federal refund can come by Direct Deposit.
What is not on the PA-40
Your local earned income tax is filed on a separate local return with your local tax collector, not on the PA-40, and we do not prepare it. The Philadelphia wage tax is not part of the PA-40 either.
Questions
Why do you ask for my school district?
The PA-40 requires a school district code for where you lived at the end of the year. The interview asks for it so it appears on your return.
What if I owe Pennsylvania?
If you owe Pennsylvania, we prepare the PA-40 V payment voucher with your Pennsylvania return. If you also owe the IRS and can't pay at once, you can request a federal payment plan inside your return. The IRS decides whether to approve it, and IRS fees and interest may apply.
Is my Pennsylvania return in Spanish?
The whole interview is available in Spanish, but your Pennsylvania forms are in English, the language the Department of Revenue publishes them in.
